RJC COVID-19 Update: March 17

Mar 17, 2020 | RJC News

Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through the implications of the government of Saskatchewan’s decision to close schools as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  We will post updates here on our website as new developments emerge.  Safety of our students and staff continues to be our first priority, and everyone on campus is reminded to follow the most up-to-date precautions outlined by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.  To date, we have no students or staff displaying symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, but we continue to be vigilant in this regard.

In keeping with the government’s official press release, RJC will remain open until Friday, but parents are advised to keep students at home if they are able to do so.  We are currently suspending all extra-curricular school programming until further notice, and ask any guests on campus during the school day to report to the office. We remain committed to the education of all of our students, and are currently preparing for full delivery of distance and alternative education for all classes on Friday, March 20 and will update with details soon.

For now, our dorms remain open, but we are advising all students who can return home to do so.  If you are having difficulties making travel plans please contact the school, and we will work with each family to ensure that a safe plan is in place for their child.  All dorm rules remain in effect, and we are asking that students in our dormitory limit off-campus visits.  We are also currently limiting visitors to the dorms. With the exception of food services for our remaining dorm students, the RJC Dining Hall will be temporarily closed beginning Friday, March 20.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and patience as we continue to address the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please feel free to call the school if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Ryan Wood, Principal
